Cape Griffon Vulture

Cape Griffon Vulture

Description

Daniel Taylor teamed up with "vulture whisperer" Kerri Wolters of the South African Vulture Conservation Programme to raise awareness and funds to prevent the extinction of the magnificent Cape Vulture. Only 2,900 breeding pairs of Cape Vultures remain world wide.

Kerri Wolter founded the Vulture Conservation Program in Magaliesberg, South Africa. Kerri's ability to connect with and handle these birds, as well as to conduct wild captures, puts her among the very few who recognize and advocate the vital role vultures play within ecosystems and society.

In the video below, produced by AfricanRenaissance, Kerri flies with the Cape Vultures. She takes us on a Path into the Future exploring not only threats on vulture survival, such as the 'muti' trade and urbanization, but also the wealth of knowledge and freedom that these birds can pass on to the human race.
