At times invisible, lazing around in the heat of the noon, this leopard finds solitude on the limb of a tree. Just who has spotted who is the question. Slim and sleek but powerful in motion, imposing threats upon any creature and yet only acting as they instinctively know best. Has she eaten already or is she waiting till the cool of the day to hunt for prey?
Many probabilities mankind has forced upon this beautiful animal. Within this new reality they are in a constant struggle for existence.
I have given this painting a warm, content feel, with the leopard's searing eyes expressing the heart and soul of Africa. I needed to capture this gentle moment and allow the warmth to show through, freshening it up with some natural greens and ochre.
