Jason Jaffray

Self-taught Artist, South Africa

I was born on the 6th May 1977 in Lusaka, Zambia. My first boost into the art world was at the age of 7 when I drew a rhino for a local school competition . Ever since I have never stopped painting. When I left high school, I could not afford to further my education so I dedicated myself to painting and drawing. It did not take long before the local community took an interest in my work and I began teaching art. Because of my love for animals most of my paintings that I have sold were of wildlife.

Over the years I have had the opportunity to interact closely with rhinos, elephants and lions and I have grown a great passion for conservation. I believe that if more artist could take a stand by donating a percentage of every painting they paint to support conservation efforts around the world. We as artists could make a great impact on the plight of endangered species. It is with this mindset that I have decided to plegde 25%-50% of every painting I sell to the respective conservation efforts of the animal depicted.
