Jennifer Hooper

Artist & Photographer

Jennifer Hooper is a London based artist and photographer. She studied painting and photography at Camberwell college of art, and anatomy for artists at University College London. She began teaching and tutoring in 2007 to accompany her studio practice.
When not working in her Hackney studio she travels periodically for ideas and inspiration. She has work in numerous private collections.

"I work with traditionally romantic subject matter but this is juxtaposed with a sense of dissonance and a dislocation which creates an atmosphere. Juxtaposition, between melancholy and beauty, darkness and light is at the core of my work. I comment on our relationship to the natural world and place within it. More recently I have been focused on finding ways to promote environmental concerns through my practice."
